El Cuento del Pico

En esta pintura quise mostrar a la guacamaya como una narradora vibrante de la selva—valiente, sabia y llena de espíritu. La pinté en tonos brillantes de naranja, dorado y azul eléctrico para reflejar su energía y presencia. La selva que la rodea está hecha con hojas caídas que recolecté y pinté con aerosol, usándolas como esténciles para crear las siluetas en capas y con textura alrededor del ave. Quería que el fondo se sintiera vivo, como si la selva también formara parte de la historia.

El pico se convirtió en el corazón de la obra para mí. Sus líneas delicadas y naturales se sentían como un mapa—cada surco una marca del tiempo, de historias llevadas por el viento.

La guacamaya es tanto guardiana como mensajera, y me recuerda que la selva habla en colores, respira a través de sus hojas y lo recuerda todo.

Beak's Tale

In this painting I wanted to showcase the macaw as a vibrant storyteller of the jungle - bold, wise, and full of spirit. I painted it in glowing shades of orange, gold, and electric blue to reflect its energy and presence. The surrounding jungle is made from real fallen leaves I collected and spray painted, using them as stencils to create the layered, textured silhouettes around the bird. I wanted the background to feel alive - like the jungle is part of the story too.

The beak became the heart of the piece for me. Its delicate, natural lines felt like a map - every groove a marker of time, of stories carried by the wind.

The macaw stands as both guardian and messenger, reminding me that the jungle speaks in color, breathes through its leaves, and remembers everything.
