Working With the World
For this project TMU (formerly known as Ryerson University) offered our collaborative team of three Toronto mural artists an opportunity to create a mural for the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures. The brief for the project was to come up with the colourful design that brings life to their area and emphasizes the idea of languages being bridges between cultures.
Our team of three mural artists drew inspiration from the diversity, passion and creativity at Ryerson University. Our goal with this piece was to inspire and remind both students and staff of the great benefits that come from studying our world through language, literature and culture. Our mural takes you on a journey through the world as you walk by it. The more you explore our piece, the more details you notice - just like the world we live in. Our mural has doors to reflect opportunity, as well as symbols representing globalization, learning and unity, and words that reflect Languages, Literatures & Cultures department. Using visual language we created a piece that people around the world can feel connected to.
